Klir Beck was a Mount Vernon, Maine artist who was one of a group of artists who came to Key West in 1935 as part of the Federal Emergency Relief Administration and the Key West Art Project. A painter, sculptor, architect and naturalist, Beck worked for the State of Maine for over 25 years. Education: Art Students’ League. Exhibits: Key West Art Gallery, Caroline Lowe House, February 1935; Coral Gables Biltmore Hotel, with other Key West artists, March 1935, a casein, Courtyard. Died: March 14, 1966, Mount Vernon, Maine.
