Emmitt Fritz, Castillo de San Marco. Oil on board, 16 by 20 inches.

 

Emmett Fritz came to St. Augustine in 1950 and spent the next forty-five years painting the local scene. He could be found on St. George Street displaying and selling his paintings into the early 1990’s. Fritz worked as a cartoonist for the comic strip, Roxie West.

Died: November 29, 1995.
