In 1938 the Clearwater Art Museum chose Henry White Taylor as first director. He taught at the Museum School of Art with Georgine Shillard and Evelyn Alvord Conway until his death in 1943. His summer home was in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. In 1947 the Florida Federation of Art established the Henry White Taylor Loan Scholarship to honor him and provide funds to aid Florida students wanting an art education.
