Born in Michigan, Lloyd Loeffler worked as a commercial artist for the Stuart A. Friedrich Studios and the Detroit Edison Company, before moving to St. Petersburg in 1956 as a staff artist for Florida Power Corporation. In addition to his commercial work, Loeffler exhibited his watercolors and oils in both Michigan and Florida exhibits. In 1958 one of his paintings, The Russell House, 1905, was selected for the permanent collection of the Detroit Historical Museum.
