 A licensed pilot and a WASP trainee during World War II, Elizabeth Patton was art supervisor for Pleasantville, New Jersey public schools from 1942 to 1949 and head of the art department at Dwight Morrow (Englewood, New Jersey) High School, before moving to Hollywood, Florida in 1951. Patton eventually moved to Miami and in 1973 to Largo, Florida.

In 1969 Patton was a regular exhibitor at the Tanya Brook’s Gallery, Palm Beach, Gallery 3, Miami, the Emerald Gallery at the Diplomat Hotel on Hallandale Beach and the Cardvelle on Galt Ocean Mile in Fort Lauderdale.

An award-winning Florida artist, Elizabeth Patton’s works hang in the Denver Museum of Art and the Ford Collection of American Art. The Crane Family Foundation donated a series of her paintings depicting life among the Seminole Indians to the Southeastern Museum of the North American Indian on the campus of the University of North Carolina, Pembroke campus. Patton’s paintings, including Palm Harvest and Okeechobee Country were featured in the Miami Herald’s Fun in Florida section.
